PAT (Public Access Terminal)

Launched at BTTF 1999 TIM4 now offers a full multimedia PAT system with multilingual potential. This can be housed in a free standing kiosk, in the TIC or Town Centre or be strategically placed to be accessible from the main desk. Taking it's data direct from the back office management suite there is only one, simple data entry point to avoid duplication of work. PAT will automatically convert the data to the displayed format with a menu structure based firstly on location and then by type of enquiry, eg Attractions, Events. One simple key press can tum your management system into a public access system if you are busy or short staffed.

The system is able to utilise the full National TRIPS data thereby presenting a National database, with the result that the site in Chichester could access the information on Carlisle, and vice versa. Images and sound can be added to the basic text data. Menu options can be selected with either the mouse, keyboard or a Touchscreen monitor, depending on location.
